Kuat Piston SR Bike Rack on a Platform Rack Review- Video

Hey, guys, it's Jake here with etrailer. Today we're gonna be taking a look at and I'm gonna show you some of the cool features on the Kuat Piston Pro SR roof-mounted bike rack. Now, even though this is a roof-mounted bike rack, we're gonna be talking more so today about the compatibility with platform racks. As you can see here, I've got it mounted onto my Front Runner bed rack. It was a great fit. There's a couple different ways that you can mount it on a lot of other racks, but specifically on the Front Runner rack, you will have to use the bar mounts. more

Yakima Roof Bike Racks Review - 2019 Ram 1500- Video

Hi everyone, Aidan here with etrailer.com, and today we're gonna be taking a look at the Yakima HighSpeedhigh Roof-Mounted Bike Rack, here on our 2019 Ram 1500. Now clearly, we don't have this on the roof, but with our truck, we have a variety of different options for crossbars over the bed. We've got ours mounted onto the tracks of a tonneau cover here, so we've got that above bed storage. This is perfect for things like a bike rack, 'cause you don't have to reach up nearly as high for the roof of your truck or on the ladder rack of your truck. Now the HighSpeed here is going to be a fork-mounted bike carrier, which means we've got the front wheel off, and it's held in at this clamp front. It comes with a nine-millimeter quick-release skewer, but we'll also work with a variety of different size through-axles. more

Yakima Roof Bike Racks Review - 2019 Ram 1500 Y02114- Video

Today we're going to be taking a look at the Yakima High Road on our 2019 Ram 1500.So this bike rack does clamp down on your front wheel giving it no frame contact. It is going to be really nice for those carbon fiber bikes as you see here. Just to keep that frame as nice as it was the day you picked it up. And to clamp down on your wheel, you're going to use this torque right knob and basically as you loosen it, it's going to bring that arm down, as you see here. more

This is going to allow you to carry your bikes on these rails to wherever you need to go.This is a fork mounted bike rack. So you do have this nice little fork right here, and it connects with this little adjuster knob and what this does is as you tighten it clockwise, it pinches on this little spacer right here, keeping your bike extremely firm into place. There is sold separately, a locking mechanism that you can buy at etrailer.com. It's going to lock this wheel to where your fork mounts won't be able to come loose at all. more

Kuat TRIO Roof Bike Racks Review - 2015 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2015 Ram 1500, we're going to be doing a test fit of the Kuat Trio. This is going to be your roof rack mounted bike carrier. It's going to be part number TR02. The first thing you're going to want to do is set it up with that pad that's here on the bottom, this plastic pad, that's going to sit over your front bar. Then, we'll go ahead and open up our front door, get up where we have a good position, and then simply place these clamps under the bar, like so. Then we'll take our nuts and thread those down over the top. more

Swagman Upright Roof Bike Racks Review - 2014 Ram 1500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 1500 we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Upright. This is a roof-mounted frame clamp-style bike rack. It's part number is S64720. We've already got the Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system on the Ram so we're going to begin our test fit by placing the rack right up onto our load bars. At the front we're going to bring 2 U-bolts, as well as 4 wing nuts. To use here, we're going to have another U-bolt, 2 wing nuts and a flat plate that we'll use here at the rear. We'll put that back there, our wing nuts here, our U-bolts. more

Swagman Fork Down Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500, well be test fitting the Swagman Fork Down Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number S64710. Now Ill be using the tall step ladder just to make the installation process much easier. With the Thule rapid traverse roof rack system on our truck, well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up on to the vehicles load bars. Starting at the front, were going to take the silver U-bolts to go around the underside of the front bar up to the predrilled holes at the head of the carrier. Well then take our black wing nuts and thread down on to the silver U-bolts, and well keep the wing nuts loose. Well move to the rear and this ti me take the silver U-bolts to go down through the predrilled holes of the bike rack. Well then take the black plate and insert one end of the U-bolt into the hole of the black plate and install our wing nut, well then swing the bracket around, inserting the second part of the U-bolt into the hole of the wing nut, and then tightening it down. more

RockyMounts TieRod Stretch Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500, we'll be test-fitting the RockyMounts TieRod Stretch roof mounted bike rack, part number RKY1011. I'll be using a tall ladder so I can make the hardware of the bike rack easily accessible. With the Thule Rapid Traverse roof rack system on our vehicle, we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's crossbars. We need to start off by by bringing the two black rubber-coated steel straps around the front bar. We'll need to the remove the black cover to position the straps and to the connection point of the head of the carrier. Then move to the rear, remove one of the Allen bolts and position the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar and then reinstall the Allen bolt. We'll keep it loose at this time. more

Yakima ForkLift Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500 Crew Cab, were going to be test fitting the Yakima Forklift, a fork mount roof bike rack with part number Y02098. With our Yakima Q-towers roof rack system already installed on the Ram, well begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly on to our cross bars. Here at the front, well remove the securer, it is reversed thread, slide back the black cover and loosen the black T-handle. Well then remove the T-bolt from the lower portion of our clamp, bring our clamp around our crossbar, reinsert the T-bolt and tighten down that black T-handle. With our front secure, well slide the black plastic cover forward and replace our securer. We can now move to the rear. This time well loosen the black T-handle, remove the T-bolt from the slot, bring our clamp around our bar, reinsert our T-bolt, and tighten down the black T-handle to secure it. more

Thule Sprint Fork Mount Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 RAM 2500 Crew Cab, we're going to be test fitting the Thule Sprint, a fork-mount roof bike rack with part number TH528. With our Thule rapid traverse roof rack system already installed on the RAM, we begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our load bars. When we do this, we want to be sure the black rubber-coated metal straps go around the underside of our load bars. Here at the front, we're going to fit the strap into the head of the carrier. We'll then turn the black lever to tighten our strap. With the front secure, we'll move to the rear. We're going to fit this strap into the foot of the carrier and turn the black lever to secure it in place. With our rack secure, we're now ready to load our bike. We'll begin by undoing our rear wheel strap and loosening our front skewer. more

Thule Big Mouth Roof Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500, well be test fitting the Thule Big Mouth Roof Mounted Bike Rack, part number TH599XTR. Now you may need a step stool or a small ladder to be able to get the bike rack into position. Or you can step on the foot plate on the inside of the cab. With the Thule traverse roof rack system installed on our pick up, well begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up on to the vehicles load bars. With the bike rack up on to the bars, well go ahead and start at the front. Well need to position the L-brackets on the front and underside of the front load bar. more

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500 Crew Cab we're going to be test fitting the Swagman Upright Roof Bike Rack part number S64720. With our Yakima Q-Towers Roof Rack System already installed on the Ram we'll begin our test fit by placing our bike rack directly onto our crossbars. Here at the front we're going to bring two of the U-bolts around the underside of our crossbar, through the head of our rack, and hold them in place with two wingnuts on each one. We'll then tighten down all four of our wingnuts and secure the front of our rack to our crossbar. Here at the rear we'll put the U-bolt down through the rack being sure that the threaded portion comes out on both sides of the crossbar. We'll then put on the black plate and two of the wingnuts. We'll tighten down both of the wingnuts to secure the rear. more

SportRack Roof Mounted Bike Rack Review - 2014 Ram 2500- Video

Today on our 2014 Ram 2500 we'll be test fitting the Sport Rack Roof Mounted Bike Rack part number Sr4622. Now I'm going to be using a tall step ladder just to make the installation a little bit easier. With a Thule Rapid Traverse Roof Rack System on our truck we'll begin our test fit by placing the bike rack up onto the vehicle's load bars. We'll start at the front and take the rubber coated black U-bolts around the underside of the front bar and insert them up through the pre-drilled holes at the head of the carrier. We'll then thread on our black wingnuts leaving them loose. We'll now move to the rear and we'll need to take the black spacer to go in between the top part of the rear bar and the bottom part of the bike rack. We'll then take the black bolts to go down through the pre-drilled holes of the bike rack as well as the black spacer. more

I'm going to start at the front and take the rubber coated U-bolts around the underside of the front bar up to the pre-drilled holes at the head of the carrier. We'll the take the cylinder nuts to thread down onto the U-bolts, keeping them loose. We'll then move to the rear. Remove one of the black wing nuts and position the rear bracket around the underside of the rear bar. After reinstalling the black wing nut, we'll tighten it all the way down. more
